| Intertek Carnot Emission staff has over fifty years of experience researching, designing, developing, and conducting experiments on engines ranging from 300 W to 1500 kW. These engines have included marine, locomotive, agricultural, stationary, aerial, high-performance, on-highway, small offroad, and other nonroad engines operating with fuels like gasoline, diesel, natural gas, and liquefied petroleum gas.
The Intertek CES staff is expert at engine testing and system monitoring. Our in-house capabilities include fabrication, instrumentation, diagnostic, and analysis for a wide-range of engine related tests and systems. Fabrication is performed in a fully equipped machine shop. Instrumentation has been selected and calibrated to ensure accurate data acquisition and technology transfer to the client.
Diagnostic equipment and experience play a significant role in the speed in which a program is accomplished. Our experience increases a test program's success, and yields lower costs that save you money. Engineering analysis of data and instrumentation also ensures accurate results the first time to reduce costly mistakes, and again, save you money.
Intertek CES is particularly experienced with both engine-out and post-catalyst exhaust emission measurements to meet demanding requirements of both the Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board. In addition to Intertek CES' emission measurement capabilities, Intertek CES can provide cold and hot engine testing, heat rejection evaluations, performance mapping, and engine management calibrations. Fuel and oil analysis are also available.
Intertek CES staff has extensive experience acquiring and analyzing cylinder pressure data for heat release, indicated engine performance mapping, and friction analysis; however, cylinder pressure measurements are not currently available. Intertek CES is continuously working to expand its in-house capabilities, and would be pleased to provide feedback regarding your application. Contact Intertek for more information.
