Candle Wax Testing

Imported Candle Testing is required for compliance with the U.S. Department of Commerce, Import Administration antidumping rules. Intertek tests all kinds of candle wax and candle wicks in the USA and abroad. The laboratory conducts candle wax analysis, measuring paraffin wax content, palm oil content and lead content in candles and wicks The tests are use for both imported candles and domestic candles in the USA.

Candles imported to the USA may require an accompanying analysis indicating the level of paraffin wax or palm oil content. Intertek tests imported candles for the determination of paraffin wax and palm oil content. The laboratory offers this service directly to candle importers and to their international suppliers. Our experience includes testing for U.S. Customs.

Candle wax testing include use of laboratory methods  34-07 or 34-08, using GC/MS (Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer) on request. Intertek candle wax test results provide certification for U.S. Customs purposes, and offer a basis for importing and purchasing decisions.
