Laboratory analysis, characterisation, problem-solving and consultancy are offered to customers in production, product development, research and technical service. Precise measurements on complex formulations and complex micro-structures need sophisticated equipment and people who know what they are doing. The MSG has both in spades.

Intertek MSG have some of the best scientific kit in the world to assist our scientists and their customers investigate materials on all scales - from nanoparticles to bulk samples. More importantly, we have many experts who are at the top of their individual fields to interpret that data. This is particularly important in the field of problem-solving, where the experience of our scientists, and their understanding of 'real-life' processes, enables them to relate the measurements to the issues confronting you, our customers.

We have been delighted to welcome many new clients and have continued to expand the type of materials that we have studied. A few years ago we worked mainly on chemicals, polymers & composites and inorganic materials such as catalysts. These days we are also increasingly active in areas such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and electronic materials. Simon has been involved in Measurement Science for nearly 25 years, focusing during that time on physical property measurements, particularly in the areas optics and electrical properties. In January 2005 he took over as Director of MSG.
