Thermal Analysis:
- Thermal Analysis using DTA/TG, Differential Thermal Analysis, Thermogravimetry, SETARAM TAG 24 Thermoanalyser.
Thermal stability studies on polymers, explosives and a variety of other chemicals and formulations.
- Determination of endotherms, exotherms and weight loss on heating. Experimental data for hazards assessment programs.
NMR Analysis:
- Probe operates a new 400 Mhz NMR spectrometer, equipped with multi-nuclear probes.

Surface Analysis:
- SEM EDXA and Energy Dispersive X-Ray. Probe operates a JEOLJSM - 6400 scanning microscope. Magnification up to x100,000. Analysis of dust, deposits, contaminants, particles and filter residues.

- Method development and validation, problem solving and troubleshooting, particle size analysis, particle size distribution analysis. Proficiency in classical inorganic analysis, including Karl Fischer, Kjeldahl Nitrogen, acid-base and redox titrations, and more.

ICP Analysis:
- Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy for elemental analysis in both aqueous and organic matrices.
- Microwave digestion unit is used for problem samples and safe handling of hydrofluoric acid.
Chromatography Analysis:
- Analysis of surfactants, solvents, plasticisers, antioxidants, explosives, pharmaceuticals, and inter alia, mixtures containing inorganic anions, etc.
- Testing applications include plastics and polymers analysis, molecular weight distribution, pesticide residue analysis, trade waste characterisation and site remediation studies.
- Gas chromatographs are equipped with mass selective detection, flame ionisation, electron capture, flame photometric and nitrogen-phosphorus detectors.
- Detectors include uv/vis diode array, fluorescence, electro-chemical, conductivity and differential refractometry.
FTIR Analysis: Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
- Examination of powders, films, liquids and laminates Identification of unknown chemicals, polymers, paints, fibres and adhesives.
Elemental Analysis:
