| Biodiesel is the mono-alkyl-ester of long chain fatty acids derived from renewable lipid sources such as rapeseed. The European commission has set a goal that by the end of 2010, 5.75 % of the energy used in Europe will come from biofuels. Fuel testing helps protect engines from potential damage caused by contaminated fuels including biodiesel.
