Sulfates detection in denatured Ethanol

Intertek Caleb Brett provides laboratory testing and assessment for the presence of sulfates in denatured ethanol, including fuel grade ethanol and coolants. Dectection of sulfates is accomplished by ASTM D 5827, by ion chromatography (IC). The testing labs are capable of running an optional modified ASTM D-5827 method that acheives a lower detection limit than the standard method. Chlorides and other anions are also detected using the D5827 method.

ASTM D5827-95 (2002):
The standard test method for analysis of engine coolant for chloride and other anions by ion chromatography.
