Intertek Oil Chemical and Agri Division has acquired Electrical Mechanical Instrument Services Ltd (EMIS) from its shareholder Joseph O’Neil on January 3rd 2008. EMIS provides instrument calibration services to the Oil and Gas industries from locations in the UK (Aberdeen) and in the Middle East (Qatar and Abu Dhabi). The company employs 19 personnel and is pursuing opportunities in the Caspian region through existing Intertek contacts. Joseph O’Neil will continue to manage the business and will be based in the Middle East, where he will play a major role in developing metering and calibration services.

EMIS focuses on the calibration, repair and management of electronic, electrical, pressure, differential pressure and temperature test equipment and instrumentation. The calibration of fiscal metering testing and measurement equipment is a specialisation. Dimensional and torque test equipment calibration services are also offered but are not accredited although fully traceable to National Standards. Service is also offered on-site including the ability to work offshore or overseas. |
