The Intertek Caleb Brett Crude Oil Assay laboratory in Fujairah UAE provides a fast turnaround of crude oil analytical results for both petroleum TBP distillations and associated detailed hydrocarbon analysis. The Fujairah petroleum assay facility is an ISO 9001:2000 accredited laboratory. The Fujairah UAE Crude Oil Assay Laboratory houses a comprehensive range of distillation units, allowing manual, semi-automatic and automatic distillations
to be carried out on charges from 5 Litres to 25 Litres.

The crude assays produced are run to exact customer requirements. The crude assay data generated is presented in a customised form to help clients understand the characterisation valuation and optimise crude oil selection and processing decisions.
A full and comprehensive evaluation of the crude starts with a True Boiling Point Distillation essentially a distillation of the crude oil under good fractionating conditions.
Laboratory Assays of Crude oil and Condensate are conducted to establish yield (weight% / Volume%) and the product physical/ chemical properties. Distillation from 350 Deg C using a 15 Plate theoretical column and from 350 Deg C to approx 570 Deg C by High Vacuum flash Distillation. The Assay results give a useful and detailed picture of the quality of oil.

Yield from the original crude oil is measured as % Vol or % wt. Light Ends Analyses (C1 – C5), and individual fractions are separated and tested.
ndividual cuts of Butanes and Lighter components, Light Naptha, Heavy Naptha, Kerosene, Light Distillate, Gas Oils, Vaccum Gas Oil, Light & heavy Residues receive extensive analyses for each fraction produced by the distillation process.

Whole crude oil evaluations are designed to provide basic information regarding the physical and chemical properties of a whole crude oil. The information can be used for preliminary engineering, feedstock analysis and marketing. Since many of the properties of crude oils change with temperature and pressure or from lengthy exposure to atmospheric environment, proper sampling is very important. Intertek provides the service of sampling at onshore as well as offshore facilities.
