Intertek Organized into Seven Divisions

Intertek Expands to Seven Business Units to Better Capture Rapid Growth Opportunities

To better capture rapid growth opportunities in certain sectors and to increase the focus on customers in their specific industries, from 1 January 2008 Intertek is organized into seven divisions: Consumer Goods; Commercial &
Electrical; Analytical Services; Minerals; Oil, Chemical & Agri Cargo; Industrial Services; and Government Services. The structural changes increase Intertek's ability to capture market opportunities in the industries and regions served by the company, further strengthening Intertek's leadership in these areas.

The growth and diversification of services offered by the Oil, Chemical and Agri Division (OCA, Caleb Brett) over the last 5 years has resulted in the creation of three divisions:


 

 

Mark Loughead, previously Executive VP for the Oil, Chemical and Agri Division, has been promoted to Intertek Group Chief Operating Officer. The new top management for the three new divisions are experienced individuals with successful careers in the Intertek Oil, Chemical and Agri Division. They include:

 

Jay Gutierrez, Division Executive Vice President, Oil, Chemical & Agri:

  • Jay Gutierrez is Executive Vice President of Intertek’s Oil, Chemical & Agri division, which role he assumed in January 2008. Previously, he was Vice President for the division in the Americas. Jay joined Intertek in 1997 with a primary focus on developing the Group’s Chemical stream. He was promoted to Area Controller, West Coast in April 1999, and later assumed responsibility for International Coordination and Sales/Marketing. In October 2002, Jay became Vice President, Americas for the division.

Andrew Swift, Division Executive Vice President, Analytical Services:

  • Andrew Swift is Executive Vice President of Intertek’s Analytical Services division, which role he assumed in January 2008. Prior to this, he was Vice President of Global Outsourcing within Intertek’s Oil, Chemical & Agri Division. Dr Swift joined Intertek in 2001 as Business Development Manager of the Group’s laboratory facilities at Sunbury (UK). He became Business Development Manager of outsourcing in Europe, Africa and the Middle East in 2002 and then Director of Global Outsourcing in 2003. Both of Andrew's degrees are from UMIST and he is a Chartered Chemist of the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Marc Hoffer, Division Executive Vice President, Minerals Services:

  • Marc Hoffer is Executive Vice President, in-charge of Intertek’s Minerals division since January 2008, and of Intertek’s Oil, Chemical & Agri division in Asia Pacific since joining Intertek in early 2005. Marc was educated at the University of Lausanne, Switzerland in Business Administration and is a qualified Chartered Accountant.
