Crude Oil Assay Testing at Baku

Crude Oil Laboratory Services in Azerbaijan

Intertek Caleb Brett in the Baku, Azerbaijan central laboratory provides Crude Oil assay testing services.
Testing includes characterization of crude oil and the various boiling range fractions produced from physical distillation. Information obtained from the petroleum assay is used for detailed refinery engineering and marketing purposes. Feedstock assay data is an important tool in the refining process. Since many of the properties of crude oils change with temperature and pressure or from lengthy exposure to atmospheric environment, proper sampling is very important. The Baku lab provides onsite services, including sampling at onshore and offshore facilities.

Crude Oil Assay Laboratory in Azerbaijan

Basic petroleum assay evaluations include:
Atmospheric and vacuum distillations which produce distillate fractions and residual bottoms similar in quality to the actual refining process. Crude oil general properties analysis produces important data including sulfur content, viscosity measurements, cold property measurements, and metals content. Detailed hydrocarbon analysis of crude oil off-gas is also run.

Crude oil assays vary in depth and complexity, dependent upon crude oil type and customer requirements. The lab provides both standard assay formatting and custom tailored evaluations.

Laboratory Assays of Crude oil and Condensate are conducted to establish yield (weight% / Volume %) and the product physical/ chemical properties. Distillation up to 350 Deg C using a 15 Plate theoretical column and from 350 Deg C to approx 570 Deg C by High Vacuum flash Distillation. The Assay results give a useful and detailed picture of the quality of oil.

Yield from the original crude oil is measured as % Vol or % wt. Light Ends Analyses (C1 – C5), and individual fractions are separated and tested.

Individual cuts of Butanes and Lighter components, Light Naphtha, Heavy Naphtha, Kerosene, Light Distillate, Gas Oils, Vacuum Gas Oil, Light & heavy Residues receive extensive analyses for each fraction produced by the distillation process.
