Intertek Solution State NMR laboratories provide NMR analytical testing services and expertise for a wide range of clients in industry, research and more. NMR analytical techniques provide useful data regarding the type, quantity and arrangement of different atoms in chemical systems, liquids and solids. Samples are dissolved in deuterated solvents and can frequently be recovered after measurement for critical samples. NMR is a critical technique for structure determination, often required at short notice. Intertek NMR laboratories offer prompt analysis and competitive pricing. There is a 24 hour turnaround rapid response service available for certain techniques with the ability to detect 1H, 13C, 19F and 31P.

Common solvents used in solution state NMR
Samples would be dissolved in appropriate solvents. The common solvents include:
- Chloroform
- DMSO
- D2O (Water)
- Methanol
- Acetonitrile
- Acetone
- DiChloroMethane (DCM)
You would need to inform us of suitable solvents for your sample when it is submitted. There are other, less common solvents that can be used when required. Solvent suppression techniques allow measurements on an even wider range of samples. |
Typical uses and applications of solution state NMR
- NMR Characterisation
Chemicals, materials, pharmaceuticals, peptides, proteins, surfactants, polymers, fine chemicals, formulations.
- NMR Compound Structural Elucidation
Small molecules, fine chemicals, pharmaceuticals, polymers
- Quantitative NMR Analysis
Quantitation, formulation and impurity levels. Strength determination, e.g. for counterfeit drugs
Method development and application of quantitative methods using internal standards
Benefits of using solution state NMR for analysis
- Detailed Information
Solution state NMR provides detailed information in 1D and 2D about your sample. Intertek experts are available to provide and assist with the interpretation of the spectra.
- NMR Non-destructive Testing
Can recover sample following testing. Multiple NMR experiments may be run on one sample. Sample is available for other techniques.
- Prompt analysis
Measurement times are relatively short allowing prompt analysis of your sample.
