Often described as 'difficult-to-source', Intertek recently launched a GMP XRD Service from the GLP/cGMP lab in Manchester, UK, in response to requests from cusotmers workign in pharmaceutical and fine chemicals manufacturing and QC roles. This is a significant addition to the suite of physical characterization techniques provided from Intertek.
Physical characterization can play an important role in R&D, quality control, manufacturing trouble shooting (e.g. contamination issues) and other complex scientific investigations. Applications include solid dosage forms, suspensions, particulates or contaminants.
To address physical characterization issues on the bulk materials level, techniques such as XRD, thermal analysis, surface area, porosity, pores size measurements and powder flow characteristics such as pourability and dustability are also available. On the particulate level this includes light and electron microscopy, SPM, particle morphology and particle size analysis, dynamic light scattering and zeta potential. To complement these physical characterization techniques a large range of physicochemical properties can also be determined including solubility and vapour pressure. Please contact Intertek for the full list.
