Intertek BioClin Moves Into New Facility

Intertek BioClin, Athlone, Ireland, have smoothly moved into their new state-of-the art facility at the Pharamplaz development also in Monksland, Althlone. The move brings a much larger laboratory space including two 80m2 laboratories; one bioanalytical laboratory and one pharmaceutical product analysis laboratory. The facility will also house various supporting laboratories, offices, meeting rooms, pharmaceutical stability storage facility and secure document archive.

“The move from our previous site went very smoothly - it is now business as usual but with greater capacity!” reports Dr Brian McKenna, Technical Director, Intertek BioClin. Brian pointed out that even though the move was indeed only 100 meters across the road from their previous site, detailed planning and execution of this move was key to success.

Expansion

This tailored-built 900m2 facility will support Intertek’s Pharmaceutical Services offering in Ireland. Bioclin joined the Intertek Group in February this year and is one of Ireland’s leading suppliers of contract bio-analysis and analytical research and development and has been serving the local and international pharmaceutical, medical device and drug delivery industry for more than five years. The acquisition strengthened both Intertek and the Intertek BioClin’s strategic growth in expert support services to the global pharmaceutical, healthcare product industries.

Growth

BioClin is highly regarded for its technical expertise, rigorous compliance programs, and outstanding customer service. The laboratory is Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) certified and is a Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) facility. The new facility will also have the option to extend into a second floor on the Pharma Plaz site and so BioClin will be very well placed to support the growing demand for high quality services from pharmaceutical developers and manufacturers in Ireland.
