Intertek Northwest Technology Centre (NWTC), part of the Intertek Pharmaceutical and Specialty Chemicals laboratory network, recently held a celebratory event to mark the 5th anniversary of the laboratory. Over the past 5 years the laboratory, in Bebington, UK, has grown significantly from 8 measurement scientists to the current staff of 25 highly qualified and experienced scientists with knowledge gained from a wide range of backgrounds. The culture is very much focused on customer service and the staff takes pride in delivering quality analysis to meet client’s detailed requirements from a large multi-technique project to more routine measurement. The laboratory continues to practice a significant investment program in terms of instrumentation, a recent example is the purchase of new LC-MS equipment. The laboratory also has expertise in advanced techniques such as solid state NMR and GLP Tissue microscopy. Click here to learn more about the capabilities.
The anniversary event was a great success with a program of presentations from Intertek, clients and a key note lecture from Professor Paul Thomas from Loughborough University. Professor Thomas’s lecture looked at the future of analytical chemistry and how it may influence and affect humankind in the next 100 or so years. The presentation was very well received and provoked a great deal of debate. Intertek representatives were present from the Intertek network of UK laboratories who presented technical posters to demonstrate the wide range of services and expertise that Intertek can provide.
