REACH law (EC 1907/2006) was entered into force on 1 June 2007, as existing legislation was not capable of responding adequately to public concern in Europe about the potential impact of chemicals on health and the environment, and would be increasingly unable to meet expectations in the future.
REACH is implemented in phases. The first phase will end December 1st, 2008. The first phase sets new MSDS requirements and offers Pre-Registration of all existing or “phase-in” chemicals with the ECHA, European Chemicals Agency.
