Louisiana Petroleum and Chemical Laboratory

The New Orleans petroleum and chemical testing laboratory provides testing and inspection support services on a 24/7 basis to the large petroleum refining and petrochemical industries in the Louisiana and Gulf Coast regions. New Orleans laboratory capabilties include a full range of analytical capabilities for testing various hydrocarbon and chemical products. Sampling and Testing is conducted to ASTM, IP, API and other international standards. The NOLA lab is part of the global Intertek laboratory network.

The Intertek New Orleans Laboratory Campus:

An additional asset for clients is the nearby location of two complementary Intertek laboratories offering process chemistry, catalysis evaluation, food and agricultural product testing. The three labs create a laboratory campus staffed with a broad range of capabilities and expertise.

Exploration and Production  Services:
The lab also provides pipeline allocation analysis, offshore testing, calibration and other analytical services to support Gulf of Mexico offshore petroleum and natural gas production platforms and pipelines.

DSC testing capability in New Orleans:

IP-389 determination of wax appearence temperature (WAT) in middle distillate fuels. The New Orleans lab provides differential scanning calorimetry expertise to IP-389 criteria. The test determines the temperature at which waxy solids form when middle distillate fuels are cooled.
